2009 is officially upon us, and now that we've reached the 4th month of the year, it's time to buckle up and go racing again.  Saturday, April 11th marked the first day of practice for the 2009 season, and Hale Racing was on hand with not one but two racecars for testing.  The results... both cars were quite a success.

Now it wasn't a huge surprise to see the Left Hander chassis run consistent 15.8 & 15.9 second elapsed times around the 3/8 mile oval of Rocky Mountain Raceways, but it was somewhat surprising to see the "McHander" chassis turn some 15.7 second elapsed times.  For those of you unfamiliar with Hale Racing's "McHander" chassis, here is some quick information to get you caught up.  Basically what this chassis consists of is a front clip from a Left Hander chassis welded to a rear clip from a McNees chassis.  Thus giving us a "McHander."  Strange indeed, but fast nonetheless.

Both cares were very successful on this the opening day of practice.  "Both cars were consistent, and smooth.  Those were basically the goals we wanted to achieve today." said driver Michael Hale.  Team owner Red Hale was happy with the day's results as well.  "If the car we open the season with somehow runs into problems, we'll have a backup car that we know is good enough to compete.  That was the whole reasoning behind having two cars this season.  We'll call it insurance."

Practice #2 will be this weekend, Saturday the 18th, followed by another practice on Wednesday the 22nd.  After that, Hale Racing hits the track for the kick off of the 2009 points season and another race to the championship.

A big thanks goes out to all those that helped us throughout the offseason and all our great sponsors for their help in getting both racecars prepared for the 2009 season.  We greatly appreciate all your efforts in helping us to build a competitive racing team.  Thank you again!

Keep an eye on HaleRacing.com for weekly updates.  After archiving the 2008 news, I realize I need to keep the public informed a little better this year as to what's happening in the Hale Racing camp, and that is my personal goal for this season.  I will make some video highlights of Saturday's practice session available sometime before the 18th.  I'll post back here next week again to update everyone on how things went on the 18th as well.  I plan to cramp this website with A LOT of news, pictures, and most excitingly, VIDEO, VIDEO, AND MORE VIDEO FOOTAGE throughout 2009.  STAY TUNED!!  Thanks for stopping by, and we'll see you soon.
