Hale Racing made it's second trip to the dirt field last weekend, and a double dose of dirty success made it easy to forget about the June 7th asphalt race.  Yep, that race was behind us now, and it was time to get down and dirty in Price, Utah.  Hale Racing did just that, and wound up with two top 5 finishes and the teams most successful dirt race weekend yet.

Friday the 13th can often be considered "bad luck," but that was not the case for Hale Racing on June 13th.  Michael and team made their first visit to Price, Utah's Desert Thunder Raceway on Friday for the first of two events.  Friday's event was just the beginning to what turned out to be a great weekend for the team.  This was just Michael's 7th event on dirt, and it seems he's really getting the hang of things.

The night started with a 6th place heat race finish, and without any practice time, it was kind of a guessing game on how good the car was going to be.  After the heat, car and team owner Red Hale went to work and made some changes.  Were they the right ones?  Only time would tell as the main event rolled around.  I don't have to say much about it as I'm sure you're all going to want to watch the video, but the changes made definitely made a difference as Michael drove his 01 Dirt Works chassis from 12th to 4th in what was almost a top 3 finish.  It isn't going to matter what I write or how I break this one down, because it just isn't going to do the race justice as only the video can show exactly what happened.  I suggest you watch it.

Personally I believe night 2 of the visit to Price was a little more exciting.  Although the result wasn't quite as good as Friday's, Saturday night's race was still a good one.  Michael started 10th and moved his way forward to finish in 5th.  You'll see from watching the video that Michael really took advantage of some of the restarts.  Another fun thing to watch is the horsepower; especially near the end of the race.  You can really see Michael gaining ground as the laps count down.  Check it out by clicking on either link above.

Both high speed and low speed versions of the weekend's events are available, but by low speed I do not mean dial-up.  If a dial-up connection is all you have, feel free to email me and I'll see if I can get you a copy of both races on DVD and mail it to you.

Although the team was out of town over the past weekend, fan support still followed, and it was exciting to see some cheering fans make the trip to Price to support the team.  We even had a sponsor make the visit and a special thanks goes out to the guys at A&L Towing for your continued support of Hale Racing.  It's much appreciated.  Thanks to all of our sponsors and all of our fans for helping make this team a success, not only on the asphalt, but the dirt as well.  You're the ones that make it possible so thank you.  We hope you'll stop by HaleRacing.com again soon as the video for the June 14th race is made available shortly as well.  I apologize for taking so long in making the video footage available.
